The WinterCG is currently working on various efforts to improve interoperability across server-side runtimes:
Sockets API
A proposal incubating an API for establishing TCP connections in non-browser JavaScript environments.
CLI API
A proposal standardizing common CLI APIs such as argv and environment variables.
We are also collaborating with other standards bodies to make web platform APIs more suitable to server-side runtimes:
Fetch
We are gathering requirements to make the fetch specification more suitable for server-side JavaScript environments, with improvements to be developed in WHATWG.
Web Crypto Streams
We are gathering requirements in order to define streaming support in the Web Crypto API, with improvements to be developed in the WICG and the Web Application Security Working Group.
